1. Optimise your website for speed
Speed is one of the most important factors in getting results on Google. But it's at least as important to keep your visitors from getting bored and leaving!
Choose the right web host
There's a reason why some web hosts are more expensive than others. One of the reasons is because better hosting provides faster websites.
Use the caché plugin
For those who use WordPress, there are various plugins that help you get a faster website. The Caché plugin, for example, removes unnecessary code that degrades performance.
Optimise the images
If you have a heavy website with large images, the website will be slow. Compress the images and use the right image size and you can save seconds on loading time!
2. Make the website fully mobile-friendly

3. Always think about user-friendliness
It's not just visitors who want your website to be user-friendly. Google wants it to be too, because if your website isn't user-friendly, your Page Authority will suffer. Examples of user-friendliness include clear navigation, headings and easy-to-find contact details.
4. Write lots of relevant content
Google likes text but users don't like too much text. Here, it's important to find a balance and make paragraphs small and breezy. Break up the paragraphs with descriptive headings. Because not all visitors want to read all the content, it is often enough to scan certain headings. Also, the lines should not be too long, think compressed when writing your texts. Don't forget to write valuable content that visitors find interesting!
5. Use many headings and tag them
Use lots of headlines, preferably large ones. The headings should be so descriptive that the visitor hardly needs to read the text. Include the keywords in the headings and don't forget to tag them.
H1 heading
Max one H1 per page, it is the most important heading on the whole page.
H2 heading
Use 2-3 H2s, these should be the next most important headings.
H3 heading
Can be used several times on each side.
Then there are H4, H5 and H6 headings, but you probably won't need to use these. They can be used for less important headings such as About us, Contact us and Our services.
6. Don't forget to optimise the images
- Choose the right file format - JPG, PNG or JPG2000.
- Adjust the size of the image to where it will be placed.
- Compress the image, the image should weigh max 200kb.
- Name the image correctly, linked to what the page is about.
- Don't forget to add Alt attributes, which describe the image.
7. Do a keyword analysis and fill in unique metadata on each page

8. Name each page of your website correctly
When naming pages, it is important to think about how you write the url. Include the keyword in the URL and do not include characters such as ?, # and _ instead use - between words.

9. Create Google accounts
Google My Business
Used as your business page on Google, it makes your business visible on maps and on local searches.
Google Search Console
Allows you to keep track of what people search for to get to your website. You can also see which of your pages are ranking highest on Google!
Google Analytics
A must-have to keep track of how your website is performing. It gives you statistics on how many visitors you have and how they behave on your website and much more.
10. Collect links from other websites and blogs
Off-page SEO is important to make your website credible in Google's eyes. But keep in mind that the blogs that link to you must be relevant. A blog about dogs is not a good fit for a business that offers digital marketing.
